History

GreenCity will encompass the BEST Products Plaza property, situated along Parham Road, which once served as the national headquarters for BEST Products, a catalog showroom retail company founded in 1957. BEST Products ceased business operations in 1997 but contributed an iconic building to the regions that will be re-purposed as one of the world’s largest “Living Building Challenge” candidates. 

The current building includes 305,000 square feet of office space, surface parking lots, and recreational facilities. The office area and adjacent fields were vacated and eventually acquired by Henrico County in 2011.
